Meribel is located in the heart of the Three Valleys, the largest linked ski area in the French Alps which provides some of the best skiing and snowboarding in Europe.

With 600km of piste and good accessible off piste there are options for beginners, intermediates and advanced skiers and snowboarders. For non-skiers there are cross country trails and walking trails, an ice rink and a swimming pool all within easy access.

The town has been sympathetically developed with buildings made from local stone and wood. It has good shopping and sports facilities and lively apres ski with many interesting bars and restaurants.

Mottaret, higher up the same valley has the best access to the most enjoyable slopes and has its own French village feel with local speciality food shops, sports shops, French bars and restaurants.

After a fabulous day on the mountain there’s nothing better than joining in the après ski and with the Rond Point (aka The Ronnie), Scotts and The Tavern all just a stone’s throw away from Gentiane, and in Mottaret, Downtown which serves the best Vin Chaud in the valley, the Rastro and the Zig Zag bar all close to Clementine you’ll have plenty of choice.

After dinner head out for a quick nightcap or enjoy a full on night out inevitably ending at Sullys.

Meribel Unplugged have published a fantastic guide to skiing in the Three Valleys.
